At Dr Anderson Lodge we believe that each client is an individual with the right to those values which underpin the quality of life. As you travel down the long private driveway to Dr Anderson Lodge, you leave the hustle and bustle of Stainforth far behind you.
The home stands in secluded private grounds which exude peace and tranquility. Simply walk into the grounds and you can feel a warm family atmosphere complemented by all the trappings of a five star hotel. All the corridors are purpose-built to allow the free passage of wheelchairs and walking frames. There is also a passenger lift to the upper floor.
Although Dr Anderson Lodge is run by fully qualified nurse and care staff, the feeling of being in hospital could not be further away. All ancillary services are provided, including doctors, dentist, chiropodist and opticians. The treatment room is very well equipped, bathrooms are spacious and have hoists fitted and there is also a shower room.
All bedrooms are single and contain a nurse-call system, fitted wardrobes, drawers and vanity basins. Each room has a lockable door and a lockable bedside cabinet. Should they so wish, clients are also welcome to bring along their own items of furniture and prized possessions to make them feel more at home.
Our expert cooks prepare sumptuous meals and all special diets are catered for. Clients are able to choose their meal from the daily menu; our kitchen provides a rotating four-week menu to promote maximum variety. Not only is there a wide range of dishes available but clients can even choose between two specious dining rooms!
The home caters for emi dementia, nursing and residential care 24 hours a day. If also provides both long- and short-term stays. Respite beds are available. We encourage our clients to continue with their hobbies and leisure interests and often organize activities such as bingo, quiz nights, dominoes etc. We also provide fetes in the grounds and trips out.
Clients are able to choose from a respectable selection of books and cassettes from the mobile library which visits regularly. Clergy from the local churches also visit regularly to hold festive services. Clients can also attend services in the local church if they so choose. Our staff have built themselves quite a reputation far their entertainment skills. In the past they have performed pantomimes and musical evenings in the home and take great pride in their showmanship, striving to put on a better performance than the year before.
